Guitar shredders and great oratory

Most of ’em are like this guy. They can’t say anything profound, but by god, they can say it faster than anyone else. But I wouldn’t call it moving speechmaking.

Technique is not the pinnacle of musical achievement. It’s the foundation. Ultimately, it’s what you say that matters, not how fast or even how fluently.

ETA: It occurs to me that I shouldn’t just talk about guitar shredders that way. There’s plenty of classically trained types who act the same way — playing something faster makes it better. Yikes …
